OkoshiBumi in Canada
#Planning, #Marketing, #Others
A Father-Daughter Collaboration Bringing Japanese Heritage Paper Craft to the Canadian Market.
Overview
As the Creative Producer and Marketing Lead, I launched "OkoshiBumi"—a traditional Japanese paper craft designed by my father—into the Canadian market. My goal was to test the cultural fit and develop a localized brand strategy.
The Challenge: Market Validation
To prove the project's viability, I led the debut at Japan Festival CANADA 2025. This was our first official launch in Canada, and I managed everything from booth design to sales strategy.
Impact & Results (2-Day Festival)
Total Revenue: $1,600 CAD
Total Items Sold: 182 units
Customer Engagement: Successfully introduced the "OkoshiBumi" concept to visitors, validating high demand for Japanese craft in Toronto.
Multichannel Content Strategy
To build a sustainable community, I manage the integrated brand presence across:
Social Media: Strategy and execution for Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter).
Video Production: Created promotional videos (Adobe Premiere/After Effects) to showcase the craftsmanship and usage of the products.
The Future: Expanding the Canvas
This is just the beginning! My vision is to expand the OkoshiBumi brand through:
Strategic partnerships with local Toronto gift shops and museums
Localized digital marketing campaigns to reach a broader Canadian audience
Combining traditional aesthetics with modern UX/UI to create an interactive digital catalog
Help Me Share My Father’s Story with Toronto
"Every OkoshiBumi tells a story of tradition and love. If you share a passion for handmade art and cultural exchange, let’s connect! I am always open to project inquiries, collaborations, or simply a chat about art.
